Music to travel by
Tired of fighting over the radio dial while in the car with your family? Or looking for some background noise that doesn’t contain horns blaring or backseat screaming while traveling with your little ones?
A number of CD’s these days are geared specifically for car adventures and provide stimulating and entertaining music that will keep you and your kids enthralled for journeys to come.
- Not all kid’s music is painful to your ears. Many CD’s offer something for the whole family to enjoy, as well as being appropriate for the ages of all the ears in the car. Check online or ask staff in your local music store for big sellers.
- Books on CD are also great for long rides in which your kids can be quieted by story time on the road.
- The classics that got you groovin’ when you were younger often can become a favorite for your own kids as they grow. Sure, once they enter the world of tweenhood and become more aware of the music popular today, they will likely snub their nose at your tastes. Don’t take it personal. You most likely did the same with your parents.
- Expose your kids to a variety of music, including types that may be new to you.
- Let your child do the same for you and give him a chance to play his favorite CD in the car. This tells your child you value his opinion and are open-minded enough to learn about what gets him moving.
- Let each family member pick a day every week to rock out to their fave tunes. Set the ground rules, however, and make sure it’s appropriate regardless of age.
Music is way to bring the family together. No matter what the taste.
